1. Acceptance of terms
Using "Dictation Guru" (the "App") means you agree to these Terms. If you disagree with any term, stop using the App. Minors require a parent or guardian to accept on their behalf.
2. Service description
The App provides primary-school Chinese and English dictation aids — word scanning, component breakdown, voice dictation, a mistake book and gamified rewards. It supplements but does not replace formal education or professional advice.
3. Membership subscription
Free features need no registration. Membership is a one-off annual payment via Stripe; access opens on successful payment. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Membership lasts one year and does not auto-renew.
4. User responsibility
You agree to use the App only for lawful personal learning — no copying, reselling, reverse engineering or disrupting it. You are responsible for your device's data security and for complying with applicable laws.
5. Content accuracy
The App uses OCR and AI to recognize words and analyze components; results may contain errors. Verify accuracy yourself. The App doesn't guarantee correctness and isn't liable for losses from content errors.
6. Privacy
Free-tier data stays on the user's device. Member data is encrypted and stored securely. The App doesn't actively collect minors' personal data. See the privacy policy for details.
7. Intellectual property
The App's design, illustrations, text and software are IP-protected; no unauthorized copying or modification. Users own the word content they upload.
8. Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is", without warranty of merchantability or fitness. Neither the App nor its operator is liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential losses from using or being unable to use it.
9. Changes to terms
The App may update these terms at any time. Updated terms take effect on publication; continued use means acceptance.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong SAR.
11. Sunday signup campaign terms
The "Sunday Signup — 10 flagship uses" campaign applies only to accounts successfully created on 20 September 2026 (Hong Kong time); existing users logging in that day are not eligible. Each account may receive the uses once only; they are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash or any other product or service. The uses apply to flagship features only; once used up, an upgrade is required to continue. The organizer reserves the right of final decision.
